TCU Athlete of the Year Nominees

2017-18 Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidates will be highlighted each weekday through July 20. Fans will then be able to vote for their male and female choices from July 20-23 on Big12Sports.com. Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award. Today’s featured candidates are TCU’s Anna Walsh and Alex Rybakov.

TCU Female Athlete of the Year Candidate
Anna Walsh; Volleyball
Jr.; Grapevine, Texas

Accomplishments
^ 2017 AVCA All-Southwest Region Team
^ 2017 NIVC All-Tournament Team
^ Became the 10th player in program history to be honored with an AVCA All-Region award
^ Led the team offensively and defensively with 328 kills, 2.98 kills per set and a .308 hitting clip
^ Posted a team-best 122 total blocks and 1.11 blocks per set

TCU Male Athlete of the Year Candidate
Alex Rybakov; Tennis
Jr.; Coral Springs, Fla.

Accomplishments
^ 2018 ITA Doubles All-American
^ 2018 ITA Texas Region Player to Watch
^ 2018 All-Big 12 Singles and Doubles First Team
^ Became the fifth men’s tennis player and first since 1994 to garner singles and doubles All-America honors during their careers
^ Led TCU to its fourth consecutive Round of 16 appearance in the NCAA Championship
