Each week, TeamUSA.org recaps the performances of U.S. athletes through photos, showing where in the world Team USA athletes competed and how they performed. During the week of May 7-13, the U.S. men’s ice hockey team continued pool play at the world championships in Denmark, picking up four wins throughout the week; five Olympians competed on the second week of “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” in Los Angeles, with all advancing; teams from FSU and LSU emerged victorious at the Bridgestone USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships in Hermosa Beach, California; Katie Zaferes earned her second straight World Triathlon Series medal – this one in Japan – while Nick Bruce scored his first BMX freestyle park world cup medal of the season, in France; Webb Simpson won his first PGA Tour event at THE PLAYERS Championship in Florida; hurdler Brianna McNeal raced at the Diamond League in Shanghai and scored her first win since the Olympic Games Rio 2016, while Mariel Zagunis earned her first international medal – a bronze in Moscow – since giving birth; and the U.S. women’s rugby sevens team scored its second medal of the season, this time in British Columbia.
